Upper Ohrid is a pleasant small village with surrounding hills. A large
river divides the village from Lower Ohrid with 300 inhabitants. 1.5 miles to the busy railway station in the main village. 8 miles to the town of Krividol and 12 to Montana. 70 miles to Sofia All our houses are in spectacular Upper Ohrid, on the edge of the forested hills, with a population of around 80. Impressive stone church with important icons and a colossal bell, shipped from Georgia and at the port of Lom on the Danube, on its way to Ohrid City in Macedonia, was "intercepted" and brought here. An ancient large village with extensive remains of the famous Thracian Tribe of the Tribali, dating back 3,000 years. |
